Changchun aims to build China’s logistics hub city and promote the in-depth development of automobile manufacturing industry

The 2021 national automobile logistics industry annual meeting was held in Changchun on the 22nd. Wang Zilian, mayor of Changchun, expressed the hope that foreign logistics enterprises would actively participate in the construction of Changchun International Automobile City and support Changchun to build a national logistics hub city.

Changchun, home to China FAW Group and many joint ventures, is known as China’s “Auto City”, a city with automobile as the leading industry.

At present, Changchun International Automobile City has seven major automobile brands, including five main engine plants, such as FAW Hongqi, Faw Jiefang Group Co.Ltd(000800) , FAW Pentium, FAW Volkswagen and FAW Fengyue, and 340 parts enterprises, such as Changchun Faway Automobile Components Co.Ltd(600742) , FAW Fusheng, FAW Fuao, Magna, webastor and manhumer.

Wang Zilian said that with the prosperity base of FAW Hongqi new energy factory, Jiefang J7 intelligent factory, Shandong Linglong Tyre Co.Ltd(601966) and other projects put into operation one after another, Byd Company Limited(002594) batteries, Silko sports cars and other new major projects will accelerate to settle down, and the annual production and sales of complete vehicles in Changchun will reach 4 million in the future. “This will greatly promote the deep integration and coordinated development of manufacturing industry and logistics industry.”

Wang Zilian said that the local government will break the traditional thinking, traditional path and traditional way, give strong support to the development of logistics industry in terms of policies, supporting facilities and services, truly expand and strengthen the automobile industry, and build the logistics industry into an advantageous industry and characteristic industry in Changchun.

Lei Ping, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and deputy general manager of FAW, said that automobile logistics has built a bridge between automobile production and consumption and plays a fundamental, strategic and leading role in promoting the high-quality development of the automobile industry. “FAW has strengthened logistics integration and has preliminarily realized process standardization, digital management and business ecology.”

It is reported that during the two-day meeting, experts in China’s automobile logistics industry will also deliver special speeches on topics such as industry trends.
