The installed capacity of biomass power generation in China has been the first in the world for three consecutive years, and the proportion is steadily increasing year by year (with shares)

It is reported that Wang Dapeng, deputy director of the new and renewable energy department of the national energy administration, revealed at the 2021 (third) global biomass energy innovation and Development Summit Forum on the 6th that the national energy administration will continue to steadily promote the diversified development of biomass energy during the 14th Five Year Plan period. First, steadily develop biomass power generation and optimize the development layout of biomass power generation. Second, actively develop biomass energy clean heating. Reasonably develop biomass boiler heating with agricultural and forestry biomass and biomass briquette fuel as fuel, and encourage the use of large and medium-sized boilers for central heating in rural, urban and other population gathering areas. Third, accelerate the development of biological natural gas. In major planting and breeding counties such as main grain producing areas and livestock and poultry breeding concentrated areas, plan and build a biological natural gas project with an annual output of 10 million cubic meters, form a diversified application mode integrated into natural gas pipe network and urban gas pipe network, and promote the development of biological natural gas industrialization.

Xiangcai Securities pointed out that by the end of 2020, 1353 biomass power generation projects had been put into operation in China; The grid connected installed capacity is 2952 kW, the annual power generation is 13.26 million KW, and the annual on grid power is 11.22 million KW. China’s installed capacity of biomass power generation has ranked first in the world for three consecutive years. With the rapid development of biomass power generation, the proportion of biomass power generation in China’s renewable energy power generation is steadily increasing year by year. In the installed capacity of biomass power generation, waste incineration power generation and agricultural and forestry biomass power generation contribute 96% in total. By region, the cumulative installed capacity of biomass power generation is strong in the East and weak in the West. Biomass power generation has received strong support from high-level departments.

Renewable energy power generation has begun to become the mainstream of power construction. Biomass power generation technology is one of the most common and effective methods of biomass energy application. It is estimated that by 2030, China’s total installed capacity of biomass power generation will reach 52 million KW, provide more than 330 billion kwh of clean power, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 230 million tons. By 2060, China’s total installed capacity of biomass power generation will reach 100 million kilowatts, provide more than 660 billion kwh of clean power, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 460 million tons.
