New opportunities, new channels and new space — the first-line experience of “spring cargo transportation” in Guangxi

Xinhua news agency, Nanning, February 24 (reporters Xiang Zhiqiang, Qin Xingxing, Chen Yifan and Zhao Huan) “since the entry into force of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP), we have been able to organize about three international freight trains every day.” At Nanning International Railway Port in Guangxi, said Qin Yufang, director of Nanning South business office of Nanning freight center of China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

The reporter recently interviewed railway ports, airports and border ports in Guangxi and learned that with the implementation of RCEP and the further unblocking of the new land and sea channel in the west, the freight transportation as an economic “barometer” has made a good start.

Nanning international railway port is an important hub of China ASEAN railway logistics. The reporter saw here that the staff are nervously loading and unloading all kinds of materials and receiving and sending freight trains from all over the country. Since the Spring Festival transportation, the total amount of goods arrived and sent by Nanning International Railway Port has increased significantly compared with previous years. The arrived goods are mainly chemical fertilizer, grain and chemical raw materials, and the sent goods are mainly electrical equipment, electronic components, daily necessities and chemical products.

Qin Yufang introduced that this year’s Spring Festival transportation period coincided with the “full moon” of RCEP, which brought significant growth to the cross-border train cargo transportation such as China Vietnam train. At the same time, the new goods such as glass and agricultural machinery also further enriched the categories of cargo transportation.

In Pingxiang City on the border between China and Vietnam, RCEP also let enterprises see good and confidence. As an important land route from China to Vietnam and ASEAN countries, Pingxiang friendship customs port accounts for more than 60% of the goods imported and exported at Guangxi border port. At the same time, it is also the largest import port of tropical fruits between China and ASEAN. The local government actively coordinates the epidemic prevention and control and goods trade.

In the Jiangnan Shenzhen Agricultural Products Group Co.Ltd(000061) smart Trading Center Park in Chongzuo area of China (Guangxi) pilot Free Trade Zone, the reporter saw that trucks in China and Vietnam were paired and connected in pairs. Loaders in protective clothing moved boxes of fruits out of trucks in Vietnam and put them on the disinfection transport belt for disinfection. Cross border fruits that have undergone “multiple tests” can obtain “health codes” and be loaded on Chinese trucks and then sent to the national market.

“There is a strong demand for cross-border logistics.” Fu Jianfeng, the operation director of Guangxi Jiedi Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., said that the company mainly provides integrated supply chain services such as warehousing, customs declaration and transportation for customers at home and abroad. At present, there are more than 70 vehicles in China’s logistics fleet and more than 340 vehicles in Southeast Asia. The effective implementation of RCEP will make regional economic and trade exchanges closer.

“Get off the ship and get on the ship” – at Beibu Gulf Port Co.Ltd(000582) , all kinds of goods take the sea rail intermodal train to the South and north through the new western land and sea channel, out of the mountain and into the sea.

As a “golden channel” connecting Western China with ASEAN countries, the new land and sea channel in Western China has strongly enabled the sustained and rapid growth of Beibu Gulf Port Co.Ltd(000582) throughput. According to the data, the cargo throughput of Beibu Gulf Port Co.Ltd(000582) in January 2022 was 23.6754 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.65%, of which the container throughput was 485300 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 3.65%.

Both land and sea, air cargo is also “flying higher and higher”. At the cargo terminal of Nanning Wuwei International Airport, Bi Bo, manager of Nanning freight Department of Shenzhen Airlines, was busy after returning to work during the Spring Festival. “In addition to the decline in the number of days during the Spring Festival holiday, the freight volume recovered rapidly after the festival. Now there are more fresh Shenzhen Agricultural Products Group Co.Ltd(000061) in the goods category, and we strive to deliver the goods to customers as quickly as possible.” Said Bibo.

On January 20, the all cargo aircraft route from Nanning to New Delhi, India was opened, which is the first international air cargo route opened by Nanning Airport in 2022. The relevant person in charge of Guangxi Civil Aviation Industry Development Co., Ltd. said that in 2022, the company will increase efforts to open routes, secret flights, tap the market and strengthen security, promote the steady improvement of air cargo and mail throughput and maintain the rapid growth of international air cargo and mail throughput.

In order to do a good job in transportation support and epidemic prevention and control, Nanning airport put flight support ahead of schedule, learned about the cargo dynamics of Chinese and international flights from relevant departments in advance, and formulated a work plan.

Data show that since January this year, Nanning Airport’s one-day air cargo and mail throughput has repeatedly reached a new high. As of February 20, the air cargo and mail throughput of Nanning airport was 21387.1 tons, a year-on-year increase of 53.96%, of which the international air cargo and mail throughput was 7687.3 tons, a year-on-year increase of 609.31%.
