After more than three years of operation and technology upgrading, a total of 710 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be put into use in Zhangjiakou during the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, including 623 in Chongli district and 87 in the main urban area. At present, the city has built 9 hydrogenation stations, including chuangba station, Weisan Road station, Dongwangshan station, taizicheng station and taizicheng skid mounted station, Chongli south station and Chongli South skid mounted station, Chongli north station and Xishan industrial park, with a hydrogenation capacity of 7.9 tons / 12 hours, which can support the demonstration application of hydrogen energy industry in the city and ensure the supply of hydrogen energy for the Winter Olympic Games.
Director Yin Xuguang told shell finance reporters that from the adaptability training in the early stage of the Winter Olympics to the end of the Winter Olympics, Zhangjiakou has supplied more than 150 tons of hydrogen energy, and the hydrogen filling has reached the peak of 6 tons per day after the opening of the Winter Olympics.

In terms of hydrogen production and hydrogenation, director Yin Xuguang said that four hydrogen production plants have been built, including Harper, shell, Guyuan and Chongli, with a total hydrogen production capacity of 17 tons / day. Director Yin Xuguang introduced that in order to strengthen the layout of hydrogen energy industry chain, the city has cultivated and introduced 18 hydrogen energy industry chain enterprises such as Beijing Sinohytec Co.Ltd(688339) , Harper and Xiamen Jinlong, initially forming the development pattern of the whole hydrogen energy industry chain. According to the official statistics of Zhangjiakou, by the end of 2021, the installed capacity of renewable energy in Zhangjiakou has reached 23.47 million KW, and the installed scale of wind power ranks first in China. Throughout the year, Zhangjiakou generated 35.75 billion kwh of renewable energy, accounting for 58.5% of the city’s total power generation. By 2030, the installed capacity of renewable energy in the city is expected to exceed 50 million kilowatts. The large-scale development of hydrogen production from renewable energy has a solid foundation and great potential. At present, Zhangjiakou has begun to implement five major projects, including the construction of zero carbon hydrogen production base, infrastructure network guarantee, the construction of hydrogen energy industry chain, diversified demonstration and application of hydrogen energy, and innovation guidance of hydrogen energy industry. Yu Min told shell finance reporters that the current production cost of hydrogen is 30 yuan / kg, and he looks forward to halving in the next few years. From this calculation, a 12 meter bus filled with 25 kg of hydrogen can travel 400 kilometers, and the energy consumption of 100 kilometers is no more than 100 yuan, which will have great competitiveness.
