China's first nuclear power steam supply project for industrial use has been started

China's first nuclear power steam supply project for industrial use officially started construction on the 23rd at Jiangsu Tianwan nuclear power base, which is controlled by China National Nuclear Power Co.Ltd(601985) of China Nuclear Power Group. This is China National Nuclear Power Co.Ltd(601985) another new exploration in the field of comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy after the South Nuclear Heating (Qinshan nuclear power) in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province.

The reporter learned from China National Nuclear Power Co.Ltd(601985) that the project is jointly implemented by Jiangsu Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. China National Nuclear Power Co.Ltd(601985) and Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co.Ltd(601008) Xuwei New Area petrochemical base. The steam of Tianwan Nuclear Power Units 3 and 4 is used as the heat source to transport the steam to Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co.Ltd(601008) petrochemical industrial base for industrial production and utilization. It is expected to be put into operation for steam supply by the end of 2023. After the completion of the project, the annual steam supply will reach 4.8 million tons, which is equivalent to the coal-fired steam supply mode, reducing the combustion of 400000 tons of standard coal, 1.07 million tons of carbon dioxide, 184 tons of sulfur dioxide and 263 tons of nitrogen oxides every year.

According to the relevant person in charge of Jiangsu nuclear power, the Tianwan nuclear power steam energy supply project uses the steam of the nuclear power plant as the heat source, and the heated industrial steam is transmitted through an independent isolation circuit. On the premise of not affecting the safety of the existing nuclear power unit, the clean and safe nuclear power steam supply is ensured from the design source through technical transformation, which meets various industrial standards of industrial steam.

In addition, the reporter learned that Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co.Ltd(601008) petrochemical industry base is one of the seven petrochemical industry bases planned and constructed in China's coastal areas. In order to seize the opportunity of "carbon peak and carbon neutralization", Jiangsu nuclear power adheres to low-carbon empowerment and diversified development, constantly speeds up the multi-purpose utilization of nuclear energy, and strives to build Tianwan nuclear power base into a world-class nuclear energy multi reactor comprehensive utilization industrial cluster and a multi energy complementary zero carbon demonstration energy source base.
