According to the recall announcement, Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will recall 26047 domestic model 3 (12003 vehicles) and model y (14044 vehicles) electric vehicles produced from December 28, 2020 to January 15, 2022.

Under the above conditions, especially when the temperature outside the vehicle is lower than minus 10 ℃, the operation of the windshield defrosting system can not reach the defrosting effect specified in relevant national regulations, and the decline of defrosting function has an adverse impact on the driver’s field of vision, which increases the possibility of collision risk when the vehicle is driving in cold weather, and there are potential safety hazards.
In view of the above defects, Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will upgrade the software for the vehicles within the recall scope through the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and users can complete the recall without going to the store; For vehicles that cannot be recalled through OTA technology, Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will contact relevant users through Tesla service center to upgrade software for vehicles free of charge, so as to eliminate potential safety hazards.
