The four national hub nodes of the national integrated computing network landed on the same day, which is extraordinary.
Among them, Beijing Tianjin Hebei hub plans to set up Zhangjiakou Data Center cluster. the starting areas of Zhangjiakou Data Center cluster are Huailai County, Zhangbei County and Xuanhua District of Zhangjiakou City. Focus on the data center cluster, pay close attention to optimizing the layout of computing power, actively undertake the real-time computing power needs of Beijing and other places, guide the warm and cold business to migrate to the west, and build a real-time computing power center radiating North China, Northeast China and even the whole country.
the Yangtze River Delta hub plans to set up data center clusters in the Yangtze River Delta ecological green integrated development demonstration area and Wuhu data center clusters. among them, the starting areas of the data center cluster of the Yangtze River Delta ecological green integrated development demonstration area are Qingpu District of Shanghai, Wujiang District of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province and Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province.
In addition, Chengdu Chongqing hub plans to set up Tianfu Data Center cluster and Chongqing Data Center cluster. The hub of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Dawan district plans to set up Shaoguan Data Center cluster, and the boundary of starting area is Shaoguan high tech Zone.
So far, the eight computing power hubs and 10 clusters of the “counting from the east to the west” project have all landed. (see chart below)

With the rapid development of 5g, artificial intelligence and other new technologies, the increasing demand for data resource storage, computing and application in China has driven the rapid growth of data center scale: in recent five years, the average annual growth rate of China’s data center rack has exceeded 30%.
“The western region has natural resources and cost advantages. The construction of data center can not only bring local investment and help local industrial structure adjustment and economic transformation, but also leverage the drainage and development of upper tier applications through the construction of computing infrastructure.” Li Jie said.
Huawei, Century Internet and many other companies actively layout “counting from the east to the west”
The reporter learned that many leading enterprises such as Huawei, Century Internet, China Telecom Corporation Limited(601728) and Baidu are actively participating in the project of “counting East and counting West”.
“We actively participate in the project of counting data from the east to the west, and our business layout is highly consistent with the national strategy.” Huawei cloud related sources told reporters that Huawei proposed the layout of cloud data centers in Southern Guizhou and Northern Ukraine in 2017. It plans to build super large data center bases in Gui’an new area and Ulanqab big data Industrial Park. In the long term, more than 1 million servers have been put into operation. In the future, 60% – 80% of the data centers will be located in the West, Actively practice “counting from the East and counting from the west”.
Wang Shiqi, the rotating CEO of 21vianet group, told reporters that as an industry leader and the oldest representative enterprise of data center, 21vianet has planned the “east to west” project, including the data center project with an area of 200 mu and a total investment of more than 3 billion yuan in Ulanqab in the next 3-5 years.

“Our data center, located in the node of the western hub, is expected to save 1.01 billion kwh of electricity and 810000 tons of carbon emissions per year under the condition of full load operation in the future, which is equivalent to planting 35.67 million trees per year.” The person in charge of Huawei cloud said.
