On February 8, a freight train loaded with 40 containers set off from Nansha port in Guangzhou and headed for Jiangmen north station. This is the first sea rail intermodal train between Nansha port and Jiangmen north station, marking the opening of a new railway freight channel between Guangzhou and Jiangmen.
It is reported that the goods carried by the first train are mainly imported wood from Southeast Asia to meet the processing and production needs of local wood products. It is expected that the Nansha Port Jiangmen Beihai railway intermodal train will transport 400 containers of raw materials to Jiangmen north station for cargo distribution this month, providing an important guarantee for the smooth resumption of production after the Spring Festival.
At the same time, compared with the previous barge to Jiangmen Area, the goods of Nansha Port Jiangmen North train are directly loaded and sent out in Nansha port area, which can ensure that the transportation cost is not increased and save one to two days in terms of timeliness.
Jiangmen north railway station is located in Zhuxi international logistics center of Heshan City, Jiangmen. It is a logistics hub node connecting Gaolan Port and Nansha port formed by the intersection of Guangzhou Zhuhai railway and Nansha port line. Since 2018, Jiangmen north station has successively opened Shenzhen Yan Tian Port Holdings Co.Ltd(000088) sea rail intermodal trains and Gaolan Port sea rail intermodal trains. This time, with the successful launch of the Nansha Port Jiangmen North train, the logistics channel between Jiangmen and Guangzhou Nansha port has been further opened, and the port function has been extended to the gate of Zhuxi and western Guangdong production and manufacturing parks, realizing the combined port function of “one center connecting three ports”.
“Jiangmen north railway station is accelerating the upgrading of station and yard supporting facilities. This year, it will build a customs railway supervision site and a phase I project of international dry port, and strive to realize the integrated function of customs clearance and port extension.” The relevant person in charge of Jiangmen north railway station said that it would continue to strengthen the linkage with the three major ports of Nansha port, Shenzhen Yan Tian Port Holdings Co.Ltd(000088) and Gaolan Port, deepen the stable operation of sea rail intermodal trains, accelerate the opening of China Europe trains and Southeast Asia freight railway trains, and help Zhuxi international logistics center become an international logistics base of “buying the world and selling the world”.
