On February 6, Tongcheng travel released the 2022 Spring Festival holiday travel consumption data report (hereinafter referred to as the “report”) to analyze and inventory the national travel consumption market during the Spring Festival holiday.

The return passenger flow before the festival has increased by more than 40% compared with last year. The Spring Festival bookings of scenic spots and hotels in many third and fourth tier cities have increased rapidly. The passenger flow of returning home to visit relatives superimposes the travel demand of local residents, which makes the local and surrounding tourism market very hot during the Spring Festival. Hainan, Xinjiang and other provinces and cities have also ushered in a little spring.

The opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics during the Spring Festival has set off a nationwide upsurge of ice and snow tourism, especially ice and snow sports experience. Ice and snow sports experience scenic spots such as Shichahai ice field in Beijing and taiziling ski resort in Sichuan have attracted the attention of tourists

According to the big data of one-way travel, the travel passenger flow is relatively concentrated before and after the holiday, especially the demand for some long-term travel has been released intensively before the Spring Festival, which makes the travel consumption during the whole Spring Festival more concentrated on the surrounding short distance, and the long-term travel returns to a high level until the fifth and sixth day of the lunar new year. Among them, ski, hot spring and other themed resort hotels are most popular with tourists, followed by seaside resort hotels with good scenery and vision.

At the same time, around the Spring Festival, a total of 69 cultural tourism preferential measures were launched in Xinjiang, covering scenic spot tickets, hotel accommodation, catering and other cultural and tourism consumption projects, so as to provide concessions for people to travel to the local area.
