2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Spring Festival meet beautifully. In terms of urban landscape design, Beijing pays attention to the integration of Winter Olympics elements and Spring Festival folk elements to show the unique charm of “double Olympics city” to the world
On the morning of the 5th, a special press conference on Beijing urban service guarantee was held at the 2022 Beijing News Center. Zhang Yan, executive deputy director of the office of the urban operation and environmental protection group of the Winter Olympic Games and deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Urban Management Committee, made the above remarks.
Zhang Yan said that in the urban landscape layout, Beijing plans to do a good job in the harmonious integration and orderly connection between the Winter Olympic landscape and the Spring Festival landscape, integrate the Winter Olympic, Spring Festival and folk elements, and jointly create an atmosphere of “happy and peaceful, celebrating the Winter Olympic Games”. Through the strong “Winter Olympic flavor” and “Chinese New Year flavor” permeated in Beijing, let the world feel the enthusiasm and pride of Beijingers living in the “double Olympic city”.
Zhang Yan said that Beijing combines the Winter Olympic emblem, mascot and ice and snow patterns with the folk elements of the Spring Festival, such as Chinese festival, lanterns, lighting, zodiac and Fu characters, into the layout of the urban landscape. For example, the giant Chinese knot 17 meters high on Tiananmen Square. The Chinese knot itself is a traditional element of China, inlaid with the Olympic emblem in the middle, which is a perfect presentation of the Winter Olympic elements and folk elements.
Since January 2022, Beijing has carried out urban landscape layout, creating 3 landmark landscapes, 10 theme flower beds, 620 landscape sketches, 280000 lanterns, 18000 publicity banners, more than 60000 publicity pictures and 28 light shows. At the same time, Spring Festival landscape sketches, red flags, colored flags and tree lights are arranged in back streets, alleys and commercial blocks. The urban landscape is deeply loved by the public and has become a new “punch in place” of online popularity.
Zhang Yan pointed out that in order to increase the interest, participation and interaction of urban landscape sketches, new technologies such as perception, laser projection and 5g + 8K were used in the layout. In terms of production materials, lanterns and Chinese knots are made of environmentally friendly materials; Energy saving light sources are used for landscape sketches and lighting; The covers that add beautiful colors to the city in winter are the abandoned branches of colorful plants, which radiate new vitality through the creative application of urban designers.
Zhang Yan said that the urban landscape layout was in strict accordance with the requirements of the overall urban landscape planning plan for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games and the special urban landscape design plan for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games, strictly abided by the rules for the use of Winter Olympic elements, and rendered the theme with landscape sketches, road flag lighting, facade decoration, flower bed landscape and other tools; Keep the urban landscape of Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou competition areas consistent, and highlight the integrity of the three competition areas of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
In addition, the elaborate design of urban landscape after considering various factors is one of the highlights of this landscape layout. Beijing has carefully created three symbolic landscapes, including the emblem sculpture of jinyuanqiao in Shijingshan District, the “Haituo tower” in Yanqing District and the emblem of the slope protection of Jingli expressway, which will apply to become an Olympic heritage; The production process uses 3D printing technology, which not only saves costs, but also perfectly presents details. At the same time, it uses LED high-definition display and perceptual interaction technology to enable people to see and participate in interaction. (end)
