The Three Gorges new energy BEITASHAN wind farm is the largest new energy enterprise in BEITASHAN ranch of the sixth division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps. It has been connected to the grid for power generation successively by the end of 2015. At present, the total installed capacity is 498 MW, including 398 MW of wind power and 100 MW of photovoltaic power. In 2021, the power generation capacity will be about 1.2 billion kwh, and the "Xinjiang power transmission" will be realized through the Changji Guquan ± 1100 kV HVDC transmission project.

BEITASHAN ranch is located at the border between China and Mongolia, with an average altitude of more than 3000 meters and more than 400 kilometers away from Wujiaqu City, the headquarters of the Sixth Division. It is the most remote ethnic minority community farm of the Sixth Division. It was once a national poor ranch.
In September 2013, the people of BEITASHAN ranch ended their 61 year long life without electricity and became the last agricultural and animal husbandry farm officially powered by Xinjiang corps.
Although the natural environment is relatively harsh, BEITASHAN ranch has superior wind resources and lighting conditions. The average annual wind force is above grade 8 for more than 200 days, and the average wind speed is 7.3 meters per second. It is a national class III wind energy resource area; The average annual light duration exceeds 3000 hours.
To this end, in recent years, Wujiaqu City of the Sixth Division has made great efforts to layout the new energy industry chain and actively promoted the construction of 1.7 million kW wind power BEITASHAN new energy base project.
In 2019, BEITASHAN new energy base was completed, with an annual power generation of 3.1 billion kWh and an output value of about 1.5 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), driving the rapid development of pasture economy and lifting the hat from poverty that year.
Relying on the industrial development policy of the new energy base, 13 new energy enterprises such as the Three Gorges new energy BEITASHAN wind farm have been introduced, adding new momentum to the development.
At present, the total installed capacity of the new energy base is 1.62 million KW, including 1.2 million kw of wind power and 420000 kW of photovoltaic power. In 2021, the power generation was 3.45 billion kwh, including 700 million kwh of photovoltaic, an increase of 240% over the previous year.
"When troubleshooting the wind turbine, we must climb high, dangerous and hard, but this is our responsibility. While creating economic benefits, the new energy industry has also produced good ecological benefits. Taking the Xinyuan wind power project of BEITASHAN ranch as an example, since the full capacity grid connected power generation was realized by the end of 2020, the annual on grid power has been 250 million kwh, the annual operating revenue has been 120 million yuan, 78500 tons of standard coal have been saved and 230000 tons of carbon dioxide have been reduced.
The implementation of wind power project enterprises not only solves the problem of local power consumption, but also provides sufficient power to the outside world, and helps people get rid of poverty and become rich.
In 2021, BEITASHAN ranch is expected to achieve a total economic output value of 435 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%; The average annual income of the people is expected to reach 23200 yuan.
