Tesla will recall nearly 54000 cars in the United States and disable the "slow driving" function

According to the Wall Street Journal on February 2, Tesla will recall nearly 54000 cars in the United States because a function of its fully automatic driving software may allow cars to drive slowly through stop signs at intersections rather than stop completely.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Commission (NHTSA) said in a document released on Tuesday that the recall scope includes certain model s and model x vehicles from 2016 to 2022, model 3 vehicles from 2017 to 2022, and model y vehicles from 2020 to 2022.

Tesla agreed to a voluntary recall after two meetings with NHTSA officials last month, the document said. NHTSA said that in order to solve the recall problem, Tesla will update the air software and disable the "slow driving" function.
