More than 100 workers stick to their posts, and the project Department of Wuhan University expressway of MCC 1 will not stop working during the Spring Festival

“This is the first time that I haven’t spent the Spring Festival in my hometown. The project department has prepared a rich New Year meal. This year has been very unforgettable.” On February 2, on the second day of the lunar new year, Zhu Wenhui, a post-90s reinforcement binding worker from Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, and his co-workers stuck to their posts and shed sweat at the construction site of the second bid section of the Wuhan Dalian Expressway of the first MCC of Hanyang enterprise.

The second bid section of Wuhan Dawu expressway is located in Huangpi District. The line successively crosses three streets of Fukou, Hengdian and QianChuan, with a total length of 14.098 kilometers, including 7.918 kilometers of the main line and 6.18 kilometers of the branch line of Binhu Road extension line. The construction contents include three interchanges including Xiaocaihu interchange, Qingfeng interchange and yujiazui interchange, two toll stations, 34 bridges and 64 culverts.

Zhu Wenhui and his colleagues went to work on the project in May last year. On the morning of the second day of the lunar new year, they were binding the reinforcement at the bottom web of the middle beam of the left 60-6# middle span of QianChuan Viaduct of Wuhan Dalian Expressway. Zhu Wenhui skillfully passed the steel wire through the intersection of longitude and latitude of the steel bar, pulled the steel wire with a tie hook, and put a little effort on his wrist and fingers. In less than 2 seconds, a strong and beautiful plum blossom buckle was tied. Such work seems simple, but a reinforcement binding worker has to repeat it at least 4000 times a morning, which can be seen from the intensity of the work.

“During the Spring Festival, the construction site mainly carries out box girder prefabrication to lay a foundation for the rapid entry of box girder hoisting after the festival.” According to the relevant person in charge of the project department, during the Spring Festival, there were 2 bridge erecting machines, 4 beam carrying artillery cars, 3 excavators, 6 cranes, 1 rotary drilling rig, and more than 120 workers and 21 managers left behind in the construction line of bid section II of Wuhan Dalian Expressway. “They voluntarily give up the good time of reuniting with their families and concentrate on their work. Their dedication is worthy of praise.”

From New Year’s Eve to the eighth day of the first month, the project department plans to complete 20000 cubic meters of subgrade filling, 10000 cubic meters of gross slag backfilling, 4 pile foundations, 2 tie beam caps, 5 bent caps, 2 cast-in-situ box girders, 20 precast beams, 10 beam and slab installation, and complete the main body of the first floor of the dormitory building of Qingfeng interchange toll station.

Wuhan Dawu expressway is one of the 14 high-speed radiation lines in Wuhan in the layout plan of “nine vertical, five horizontal and three ring highways” in the outline of provincial highway planning of Hubei Province (2011-2030). It is a fast track connecting Wuhan to the Central Plains urban agglomeration in the north. After the completion of the project, the layout of Wuhan export expressway will be optimized, the channel capacity in the north direction of Wuhan will be expanded, and the driving distance from Wuhan to Dawu will be shortened to one hour.

According to the relevant person in charge of MCC 1, the construction progress of bid section II of Wuhan Dalian Expressway will be further accelerated after the festival, and more than 1000 people are expected to enter the site for construction. “On the premise of ensuring construction safety and construction quality, we will seize the construction progress and ensure the completion of the project within the year.”
