RCEP agreement comes into force for South Korea. Quanzhou customs signs the first RCEP China South Korea certificate of origin in the customs area

The regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP) officially entered into force for South Korea on February 1. That morning, Fujian Shishi Zhengyuan aquatic science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. applied for a batch of frozen surimi worth 264000 US dollars and obtained the RCEP certificate of origin for export to South Korea issued by Quanzhou customs.

According to the relevant person in charge of Quanzhou customs, Zhengyuan aquatic products can directly print the application certificate through the "single window" of international trade. This is also the first RCEP certificate of origin for export to South Korea signed by Quanzhou customs area. This batch of goods will obtain tariff relief of about 24000 US dollars from the importing country.

"Thanks to the convenient and efficient service of Quanzhou customs, our company applied for the China South Korea RCEP certificate of origin at the first time, fully enjoyed the tariff preference, brought a competitive advantage, and we have more confidence in developing the international market." Said Mr. Li, a salesman of Shishi Zhengyuan aquatic science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.

It is reported that after RCEP came into force for South Korea, China and South Korea immediately reduced the number of goods with zero tariff to 38.6%, and finally reduced to 86%. In addition, China and South Korea are both members of the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement, and the China South Korea free trade agreement was implemented as early as December 20, 2015. RCEP's entry into force in South Korea will bring more choices for enterprise export visas.

RCEP officially entered into force for Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, New Zealand and Australia on January 1, 2022, and Malaysia will enter into force on March 18. After the agreement comes into force, the Member States will immediately reduce taxes and fulfill the commitment of opening up service investment in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, and more than 90% of the trade in goods in the region will eventually achieve zero tariffs. Through RCEP tariff preference arrangement, enterprises in the region can significantly reduce production costs, and consumers can enjoy more high-quality and low-cost products.

In order to promote foreign trade enterprises to seize the new opportunities of RCEP opening up, before and after the entry into force of the agreement, Quanzhou customs has carried out RCEP policy publicity and introduction in an all-round way through "Online + offline", held 15 RCEP policy publicity and implementation meetings, trained nearly 400 enterprises, assigned special personnel to accept RCEP policy consultation, vigorously promoted the intelligent audit of certificate of origin, and further strengthened the promotion of self-service printing, Enterprises can complete the certificate application without leaving home, so as to help enterprises make full use of policy dividends.

As of press time, Quanzhou customs has issued RCEP certificate of origin for enterprises, with a value of more than US $14.4707 million, including Shenzhen Agricultural Products Group Co.Ltd(000061) , textiles, resin products, umbrellas and footwear products. Meanwhile, Quanzhou customs urged Quanzhou Jiasheng supply chain Co., Ltd. to become the first approved exporter in Fujian Province after the implementation of RCEP agreement, and issued the first declaration of origin by itself.
