The new year's Eve dinner was cooked by the aunt of the canteen. Chen Yuchuan, who was still an apprentice at that time, went out with his master to repair on New Year's Eve. The master and apprentice rode their motorcycles through the rugged mountain road. In order to rush to the repair site in time, they rushed to repair one and stood at the intersection between several villages, waiting for the repair task at any time until 12:30 in the middle of the night. When the repair was completed, an old woman brought hot duck soup and asked them to drink it. Chen Yuchuan is still unforgettable.
One new year's Eve, a power line in baijiaoci village was broken and needed to cross a river to pull the line. Chen Yuchuan jumped into waist deep water without thinking. At that time, the temperature on the mountain was only two or three degrees Celsius. Chen Yuchuan said that he had to change clothes after the emergency repair task was completed more than an hour later. He didn't remember how cold it was at that time. After 20 years on duty on New Year's Eve, Chen Yuchuan felt "more and more idle".
