AstraZeneca Shenzhen employees suspected of defrauding medical insurance funds were notified

In response to the staff of AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. suspected of tampering with the genetic test results of tumor patients to defraud the medical insurance fund, the head of the fund supervision department of the national medical insurance administration said that in the early stage, according to the clues reported by the masses, the national medical insurance administration urged Shenzhen to establish a joint task force composed of medical insurance, public security, health and market supervision departments, The criminal suspect has been arrested for thorough investigation of the case.

In response, AstraZeneca China announced that in August 2021, AstraZeneca found in its internal compliance inspection that a small number of employees in Shenzhen tampered with or participated in tampering with patient test reports, suspected of defrauding medical insurance funds. According to the compliance policy, the company dealt with these employees who violated the company’s rules and regulations seriously, took the initiative to report to the local medical insurance department at the first time, showed the company’s attitude, and actively assisted the government in the investigation.

On December 27, 2021, the national medical insurance bureau and the Ministry of Public Security jointly interviewed AstraZeneca China. At the meeting, relevant departments introduced the investigation of suspected insurance fraud in Shenzhen and put forward relevant improvement suggestions.

AstraZeneca China said that the company attaches great importance to this, sincerely accepts the guidance and suggestions of the national medical insurance bureau and the public security department, and will fully implement the relevant requirements, further strengthen management and supervision, continuously improve the employees’ awareness of laws and regulations, and ensure that legal compliance is implemented in the daily work of each employee. The company will continue to carry out targeted internal self inspection and self correction actions.
