A love relay spanning 2600 kilometers, Ganzi boys find light in Quanzhou

Laji, a 40 year old Tibetan guy, ushered in an important turning point in his life. A journey of public welfare love spanning more than 2600 kilometers and delivering light, a successful operation brought the young man who had lived in the dark for more than 20 years back to the bright world.

In Seda County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 4160 meters above sea level, Laji, 40, took up the "pressure" to take care of the whole family early in her teens: her parents died, her two sisters and one brother suffered from intermittent mental illness, and her eldest sister had two children. Laji is the main labor force in the family, and 28 yaks have become the economic source for the survival of the family. But the family has become more difficult since La suffered from eye diseases in her eyes several decades ago. Because he can't see, Laji can only walk at the door of his home in his daily life. When wolves haunt at night in winter, he can only shout at the door to scare away the wolves, so as to protect the yaks.

In July 2021, during the return visit of the "heart Tibet action" project, Wu Songyi, one of the conveners of the wheat field Quanzhou project team and the president of Quanzhou Aier Eye Hospital Group Co.Ltd(300015) hospital, came to this snowy sectorau again for free eye clinic. In the public welfare screening, Raji, a villager from Jize village, Seda County, was particularly prominent among the more than 100 patients who came to see a doctor. After preliminary examination with portable instruments, he was preliminarily diagnosed as complicated cataract in the left eye and blindness in the right eye.

According to Raji's recollection: he had blurred vision in both eyes since childhood, and his eyesight decreased year by year. In the first grade, he began to drop out of school due to poor eyesight. More than a decade ago, his right eye suddenly fell ill and became invisible. He failed to see a doctor in a hospital in Chengdu. At that time, he found that his left eye could not see clearly. From then on, he began to enter the state of blindness.

Subsequently, the volunteers of the wheat field Quanzhou project team quickly launched the project approval action of "eye love action". On January 16, 2022, under the arrangement of many parties, lajilai went to Quanzhou Aier Eye Hospital Group Co.Ltd(300015) hospital. So far, a love relay spanning more than 2000 kilometers across Ganzi Chengdu Quanzhou has been completed.

After arriving at Quanzhou Aier Eye Hospital Group Co.Ltd(300015) hospital, Dr. Wu Songyi and his team did a detailed eye examination and optometry for Laji, and found that the situation was not optimistic. Laji is complicated with cataract (extremely hard nucleus), persistent primitive vitreous hyperplasia and old uveitis in the left eye; Old retinal detachment and exotropia in the right eye. Surgery is needed to retain the remaining vision of Laji's left eye.

On January 18, 2022, Lagos successfully completed cataract surgery. Many years later, Lagos finally saw the bright world again. He can read big characters, distinguish colors, and see cars coming and going outside the window.

As the chief surgeon of Laji, Wu Songyi said that Laji's vision recovered to 0.04. Subsequently, Quanzhou Aier Eye Hospital Group Co.Ltd(300015) will also check glasses for Laji public welfare to help him improve his eyesight.

From the initiator of "eye care action" to ophthalmologists, everyone felt the significance of seeking light from thousands of miles: let Laji return to Tibet, see the beautiful color of the sectorau again, take good care of yaks and homes.
