The reporter learned from China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation(600028) on the 29th that China’s first megaton carbon capture, utilization and storage project has been fully completed. The project, constructed by Qilu Petrochemical and Shengli Oilfield, is the largest demonstration base and benchmark project of the whole industrial chain of carbon capture, utilization and storage in China, with significant demonstration effect.
Wang Yuliang, the general manager of Qilu Petrochemical, said that one of the key technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the production process is the direct use of carbon dioxide capture and storage, that is, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the production process of Qilu Petrochemical.
The China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation(600028) fully completed one million ton carbon capture, utilization and storage project was started in July 2021. It consists of two parts: carbon dioxide capture of Qilu Petrochemical and carbon dioxide oil displacement and storage of Shengli Oilfield. The carbon dioxide captured by Qilu Petrochemical adopts the green transportation mode and is sent to Shengli Oilfield for oil displacement and storage. The integrated application of carbon dioxide capture, oil displacement and storage is realized. The carbon dioxide is sealed underground and the oil is driven out to realize “turning waste into treasure”.
In the carbon capture process, Qilu Petrochemical will build a 1 million T / a liquid carbon dioxide recovery and utilization unit, mainly including compression unit, refrigeration unit, liquefaction refining unit and supporting projects, to recover carbon dioxide from the tail gas of coal hydrogen production unit, and the purity can reach more than 99% after purification.
In the aspect of carbon utilization and storage, Shengli Oilfield has built 10 unattended gas injection stations in Zhenglizhuang oilfield based on the principle that supercritical carbon dioxide is easy to be miscible with crude oil, injected carbon dioxide into 73 nearby oil wells, increased crude oil fluidity and greatly improved crude oil recovery. At the same time, all oil and gas gathering and transportation systems adopt closed pipeline transportation to further improve the carbon dioxide storage rate.
