China Electricity Council: China's installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation is expected to reach 50% by the end of 2022

The China Electricity Council released the analysis and forecast report on the national power supply and demand situation from 2021 to 2022 on the 27th. The report points out that by the end of 2022, China's installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation is expected to account for 50% of the total installed capacity.

The report points out that China's new installed power generation capacity is expected to reach about 230 million kW in 2022, including about 180 million kw of non fossil energy power generation. By the end of 2022, China's installed capacity of full caliber power generation is expected to reach about 2.6 billion kw; Among them, the installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation reached about 1.3 billion kw, accounting for half of the total installed capacity. The installed capacity of grid connected wind power, Cecep Solar Energy Co.Ltd(000591) power generation, nuclear power and biomass power generation reached about 380 million KW, 400 million KW, 55.57 million KW and 45 million KW respectively.

The report shows that in 2022, China's power consumption is expected to reach 8.7 trillion kwh to 8.8 trillion kwh, an increase of 5% to 6% over 2021.

"According to the power demand forecast, based on the analysis of key factors such as temperature and power coal supply, and comprehensively considering the factors such as new production and installation, cross provincial and cross regional power exchange, power generation output and reasonable standby, it is expected that the overall balance of power supply and demand in China will be in 2022, and the power supply and demand in some regions will be tight during peak summer and peak winter." The relevant person in charge of the China Electricity Council said.
