"We were filmed in two groups. One group went north from Yongding gate in the south, the other group went south from the bell and Drum Tower, and finally gathered in Tiananmen Square. This morning, we finished our program, waiting for the flag raising in Tiananmen Square, and watched the exciting flag raising ceremony with people from all over the country." Shan Jixiang told the Beijing news that after the program was broadcast, it was welcomed by many young people.
He said that cultural relics protection and cultural dissemination are also adapting to the changes and needs of young people to receive information. For example, the launch of programs such as "I repair cultural relics in the Forbidden City", "Shangxin the Forbidden City" and "national treasures" is to tell the stories of cultural relics and Heritage in a way loved by young people.
The program "riding alone for thousands of miles - China in heritage" is the first cultural program of World Heritage visit and experience in China under the guidance of the Chinese society of cultural relics.

dialogue list Jixiang: the central axis of Beijing is a living heritage
Beijing News: "Beijing central axis" is still in the process of applying for the world heritage. Why did the program choose "Beijing central axis" as the ending shooting place?
Shan Jixiang: our second season program covers seven provinces and spans a large area. The last two issues came to Beijing. At present, the central axis is fully applying for world heritage. The whole central axis of Beijing is 7.8 kilometers long, which is the longest and richest central axis in the world. So we divided into two episodes to shoot, which is also to help Beijing central axis declare world heritage. According to the usual practice, we shoot in groups. One group goes north from the Yongding gate in the south, the other group goes south from the bell and Drum Tower, and finally gathers in Tiananmen Square. At 6 o'clock this morning, we watched the exciting flag raising ceremony with people from all over the country in Tiananmen Square, and then came to the monument to the people's heroes, which will be the closing place for the shooting of this season's program.
Beijing News: what is the important value of "Beijing central axis" to tell the audience? As the president of Dongcheng Cultural Development Research Institute, what are your ideas on the cultural value excavation of "Beijing central axis" and the protection of regional cultural heritage?
Shan Jixiang: Beijing central axis is a process of continuous development and enrichment. The location of the central axis of Beijing was determined from the initial site selection of the metropolis in the Yuan Dynasty. This is also an ancient axis. In 1709, the 48th year of Kangxi's reign, the Qing government determined that this axis was the axis of this junior high school with zero longitude. The concept of this middle school axis was a very advanced concept in the world at that time, 175 years earlier than the determination of the primary meridian in Greenwich, UK.
The central axis of Beijing is the core of old Beijing, showing the urban planning of the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and the people's Republic of China. Its location and design reflect the "respect for the middle" in Chinese traditional culture - the imperial city lives in the world, the palace city lives in the Imperial City, and the palace lives in the palace city. The central axis of the palace city is a clear north-south axis, including our Tiananmen Square, the monument to the people's heroes, the memorial hall of Chairman Mao after the founding of new China, including the national flag we went to see today, We have been strengthening and adhering to the concept of "central axis". Such an orderly and harmonious development has brought the word "harmony", such as Taihe hall, Zhonghe hall and Baohe hall in the Forbidden City, which highlights our concept of harmony between heaven and earth, the unity of heaven and man and a harmonious world. The concept of harmonious society we advocate today is actually the philosophical concept of building a better country and a better world in China since ancient times. It is also guiding our urban life and urban construction today.
The central axis is not a solidified thing, but an open system, which is constantly changing. With the construction of our city and the improvement of people's lives, the central axis has also received due attention, making it still magnificent even today. Therefore, we should tell the world about the thoughts and layout of the excellent Chinese traditional culture on the central axis, as well as the charm of the central axis that people living on the central axis can still feel today.
In our program, when you walk on the central axis, you can see different areas and different landscapes on the central axis. From the ecological landscape from Yongding gate to the overpass, the economic landscape from the overpass to the front door, the political landscape from Zhengyang gate to the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, the cultural landscape from the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City to the back door of Jingshan, and the social landscape from Jingshan to the drum tower, we can personally experience the "five in one" urban cultural style of the central axis.
Beijing News: what do you think are the characteristics of Beijing's central axis compared with other cities in the world? In the process of applying for the world heritage of the central axis, what are the uniqueness of the cultural heritage of Dongcheng District?
Shan Jixiang: many cities in the world have axes, including ancient and modern ones. For example, Paris, France has many axes, with the square as the center, the Arc de Triomphe as the center and the church as the center; Brasilia, Canberra and other cities also have axes. Relatively speaking, Beijing central axis is the longest axis in the world. It is not a line or a street, but an axis with rich content composed of buildings, urban squares and urban space. Today, there are also a considerable area of protected areas and construction control zones on both sides of the central axis. The protection of this central axis still commands the construction of Beijing's urban skyline and urban landscape, which is unique among cities in the world.
The outline of the project of applying for the world heritage of the central axis has been clear. Up to now, there are 19 applications, most of which are within the scope of Dongcheng District, including Yongding gate, bell and Drum Tower and the Forbidden City complex. Therefore, the central axis protection and cultural inheritance task undertaken by Dongcheng District is also quite heavy.
Beijing News: we know that the Forbidden City, the temple of heaven and the grand canal are world heritage sites. Why should we apply for the world heritage on the Beijing central axis project?
Shan Jixiang: in 1987, the Forbidden City became China's first batch of world cultural heritage. By the end of the last century, the temple of heaven also became a world cultural heritage. In 2014, the Grand Canal became a world cultural heritage. One axis is in the center of the city, and there are three world heritage sites, which is also unique in the world. But at the same time, they are an integral part of the central axis. In particular, the Forbidden City occupies a long area of the central axis.
Shan Jixiang: young people are changing rapidly now. They are not a generation in the past two decades, but a generation in a few years. Especially in recent years, when we are doing cultural communication, we feel that the needs of young people in receiving information have changed greatly. First, their tools for receiving information are changing. Second, the fragmented time has been fully utilized. We can use mobile phones to receive information whether on the subway or before going to bed, because our cultural communication is to adapt to this change and demand. Therefore, the Forbidden City also tries to promote and apply digital technology and Internet technology, such as "I'm repairing cultural relics in the Forbidden City", "national treasures" and "going to the Forbidden City". In the production process, we also repeatedly listen to the feedback of young people, so that the program can constantly adapt to the knowledge needs of young people, and adjust and improve it, As a result, it won a good audience rating. In particular, "I'm building cultural relics in the Forbidden City", which is a slow-paced program, has attracted many young fans and affected many people's employment choices. So it also strengthens our determination to try and explore. What kind of programs can make our traditional culture closer to young people, so that they can understand and feel. "Wanli walk alone" program also wants to spread the most beautiful part of China's cultural heritage from a broader area to every Monday. This is called the "Wan Li Youth League", which includes 70, 80, 90 and other participants of different ages. We hope to participate, experience and feel with their participation. To attract more peers to talk to them and cultural heritage.
These explorations also include the launch of some cultural and creative products. For example, in the process of launching cultural and creative products, the Forbidden City has continuously received positive feedback from the society, so that cultural and creative products can enter thousands of households and the lives of young people. These are our attempts to constantly contact young people, explore what aspects of traditional culture they pay more attention to, and then we carry out some targeted creative practice. It should be said that we are still working hard, and the task is heavy and the road is long and endless.
