According to the Wall Street Journal on May 21, match group, a dating service company, said on Friday that it had withdrawn its request for a judge to issue a temporary restraining order against Google under alphabet, saying that Google had made the concessions required by match group.
Match group said that these concessions include Google’s guarantee that match group’s app will not be rejected or removed from Google’s app store because it provides an alternative to Google’s billing system. Match group said it had agreed to deposit up to $40 million into a third-party escrow account instead of directly paying Google for transactions outside Google play billing (GPB) that occurred on the Android system.
Match group sued Google in the Northern District Court of California on May 9. Match group said on Friday that it insisted that Google’s request to pay for transactions outside Google’s billing system was illegal.
