By the end of April 2022, there were 125006 enterprises licensed for value-added telecommunications services nationwide (including 5410 enterprises holding value-added telecommunications business licenses issued by the Ministry of industry and information technology and the Provincial Communications Administration), an increase of 1.13% over the previous month, including 28137 cross regional enterprises licensed by the Ministry of industry and information technology and 102279 local enterprises licensed by the provincial (regional and municipal) communications administration, It increased by 1.19% and 1.11% respectively over the previous year.
At present, the regional development of the national value-added telecom service market is unbalanced. Among the 28137 cross regional enterprises, 6037 are registered in Beijing, 5787 in Guangdong and 2916 in Shanghai. 552.4% of the cross regional enterprises are concentrated in the three places.
Among the 102279 local enterprises, there are 18533 in Beijing, 9015 in Guangdong and 8264 in Henan, followed by Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. The above six places concentrate 54.8% of the national value-added telecom enterprises, and the value-added telecom business operators in the 12 western provinces account for 15.8% of the country.
According to the classification of value-added telecommunications services in the 2015 edition of the classification catalogue of telecommunications services, 1250065 value-added telecommunications enterprises have a total of 176105 licensed projects. Among them, there are 82471 information service services (Internet information services only), 39206 online data processing and transaction processing services, 17757 information service services (excluding Internet information services), 10061 Internet access service services, 8080 Chinese call center services, 7093 Internet data center services and 11437 other services.
