On the afternoon of April 27th, the 5th China International Fair for the promotion of exhibition and investment in the food exhibition area and the online forum on opportunities and challenges of China’s dairy industry under RCEP were successfully held. The event was hosted by China International Import Expo Bureau, National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) and China Chamber of Commerce for import and export of food, soil and livestock, and co organized by the dairy special committee of China Import Expo exhibition alliance. More than 100 food producers, purchasers, traders and industry experts, including COFCO, Xiamen Jianfa, Guangdong imported food association and pinwo, attended the meeting online.
Zhang Weimin, deputy to the National People’s Congress and assistant to the president of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), said that the formal entry into force and implementation of RCEP will provide strong support for China’s construction of a new development pattern and inject positive energy into the global economic recovery. The fair invited representatives from all walks of life of government, commerce, industry, University and research to speak freely around the “new opportunities brought by RCEP implementation to the dairy industry”, and put forward ideas, ideas and suggestions for enterprises to capture new opportunities and realize new development under the condition of high-level opening-up. The exhibition area will comprehensively enhance the audience’s sense of demand and professional participation in the fifth exhibition area.
Ma Haihua, director of the imported food public service platform of China Chamber of Commerce for import and export of food, native produce and livestock, said that China’s imported food industry is about to enter the development stage of brand ownership, R & D autonomy, taste localization, direct retail Mining, resource globalization and overseas production. Under the framework of RCEP agreement mechanism, tariff reduction, elimination of standard barriers, trade facilitation, preferential rules of origin, investment liberalization and other aspects will promote the recovery and sustained growth of the global economy. As the first national exhibition with the theme of import in the world, China Import Expo will be the exhibition that top overseas exporters and Chinese buyers focus on and need to participate in. It will also be the best platform for exhibitors to release new products.
Tian Yifang, the head of government affairs of Fonterra group in China, said that the continuous participation in the Expo in recent years is a move that Fonterra hopes to deepen cooperation with the Chinese market and be optimistic about the Chinese market. The Expo is the best platform for international companies to promote the Chinese market and launch new products in the world.
Zhang Juan, a researcher at the Institute of international economics and trade of Shanghai University of international business and economics, shared the current situation and characteristics of China’s dairy import trade, the suggestions on the arrangement of RCEP tariff concession in the dairy industry, as well as the impact of RCEP implementation on dairy import, and put forward reasonable suggestions for relevant enterprises engaged in dairy import.
Wang Jian, director of agricultural products and Food Department of SGS group in China, combined with specific cases, analyzed the similarities and differences of RCEP national dairy laws and regulations and dairy product standards, as well as the potential impact of RCEP implementation on China’s dairy industry standards.
At the meeting, the staff of the food exhibition area of the Expo made a detailed introduction to the characteristics and highlights of the exhibition area, and conducted interactive Q & A with online participating enterprises. With the theme of “green, health, innovation and development”, the food exhibition area of the 5th China entry Expo leads food innovation, health, safety and sustainable development.
