The Ministry of industry and information technology of the national development and Reform Commission and other departments made research and deployment on the reduction of crude steel output in 2022

In order to maintain the continuity and stability of the policy and consolidate the results of crude steel output reduction, the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of industry and information technology, the Ministry of ecological environment and the National Bureau of statistics will continue to carry out the national crude steel output reduction in 2022, guide iron and steel enterprises to abandon the extensive development mode of winning by quantity and promote the high-quality development of the iron and steel industry. China Iron and Steel Industry Association will cooperate to reduce crude steel output and strengthen industry self-discipline. In the process of reducing crude steel output, we will firmly grasp the general tone of stability and progress in economic work in 2022, do a good job in the work of “six stabilities”, implement the task of “six guarantees”, the node requirements of carbon peak and carbon neutral long-term goals, as well as the development objectives and stable operation of the iron and steel industry in the 14th five year plan, and adhere to the principles of marketization and rule of law while maintaining the continuity and stability of the supply side structural reform policy of the iron and steel industry, Give play to the role of market mechanism, stimulate the enthusiasm of enterprises, and strictly implement relevant laws and regulations on environmental protection, energy consumption, safety, land use and so on. Adhere to highlighting key points, distinguishing situations, maintaining pressure, avoiding “one size fits all”, focus on reducing crude steel production in key areas of air pollution prevention and control such as Beijing Tianjin Hebei and its surrounding areas, the Yangtze River Delta and Fenwei plain, and focus on reducing crude steel production with poor environmental protection performance, high energy consumption and relatively backward process equipment level, so as to ensure the year-on-year decline of national crude steel production in 2022.
