1. Capacity layout of the company’s 6-inch conductive silicon carbide substrate?
A: the company has 50 6-inch silicon carbide long crystal furnaces in normal production. 62 new long crystal furnaces will be put into use before January 15, 2022. The installation and commissioning of another 112 long crystal furnaces will be completed before the main content introduction by the end of May 2022, and 224 long crystal furnaces will be put into production before the end of June 2022.

Views on localization of silicon industry chain?
A: the downstream terminal application scenarios of 6-inch conductive silicon carbide substrate include new energy vehicles and photovoltaic inverters. Taking the new energy vehicle as an example, 13 parts of the new energy vehicle need to use silicon carbide devices. Silicon carbide based devices mainly include Schottky diode (SBD) and metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET). The domestic replacement of SBD is in progress, and the company’s 6-inch conductive silicon carbide substrate has passed the certification of epitaxial manufacturers and downstream end customers.

A: for downstream MOS and SBD application scenarios, there is little difference between the upstream silicon carbide substrate end and only a few parameters. The difference is mainly in the epitaxial layer structure. When the company’s silicon carbide substrate leaves the factory, the two application scenarios of MOS and SBD are common.
4: Sales scale of 6-inch conductive silicon carbide substrate wafer in 2021?
A: the company’s 6-inch silicon carbide substrate wafer has been sold. At present, it is mainly aimed at downstream SBD application scenarios. China’s 6-inch conductive silicon carbide substrate for MOS applications will be in the sample submission certification stage before 2022q2. After the cost of silicon carbide decreases in the future, it can widely replace silicon-based power devices.
5. What does the company think of the cost advantage of foreign 8-inch silicon carbide substrates? Will foreign 8-inch substrates suppress Chinese 6-inch substrates?
A: Recently, the CFO of wolfspeed announced that the breakeven point of the 8-inch film would not be reached until 2024. Our company also has plans to develop 8-inch chips. At present, all equipment is 6-8-inch compatible. The layout of cutting, grinding and polishing equipment is synchronized with wolfspeed. 6. China’s effective 6-inch capacity and competition pattern in 2022?
A: the effective capacity will be 40-60W in 2020 and no more than 80W in 2021. Wolfspeed, II-VI and sicrystal all have 10 times capacity expansion plans abroad. Wolfspeed is directly expanded by 8 inches, which is said to be completed by the end of the year
It is mainly supplied to Rohm, and there is no large capacity of II-VI. Most of the production capacity of the above three companies has been booked by Infineon, Italy and France before 2026. For a long time, China’s silicon carbide conductive substrate is still in short supply. From 22q2, the company can realize the supply capacity of thousands of pieces per month.
