On March 24, the State Grid started the construction of two UHV transmission projects at the same time, namely Fuzhou Xiamen and Zhumadian Wuhan UHV projects. The two newly started projects are located in East China and central China, with a total investment of 10.9 billion yuan.
Fuzhou Xiamen UHV transmission project will build one new 1000 kV substation and expand two, increase the substation capacity by 6 million KVA, and build 238 km of 1000 kV transmission line, with a total investment of 7.1 billion yuan; The Zhumadian Wuhan UHV transmission project will build 287 kilometers of 1000 kV transmission lines with a total investment of 3.8 billion yuan. The two projects will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023.
In addition, Tianjin issued the “14th five year plan” for energy development in Tianjin, proposing to focus on promoting the implementation of Beijing Tianjin Hebei UHV ring network in 2022, improve the transmission capacity of the existing two UHV channels from Mengxi to south Tianjin and Ximeng to Shandong through South Tianjin, add the construction of Datong Huailai Tianjin North Tianjin South UHV channel, and strive to reach 10 million kw of external power receiving capacity by 2025.

For the two newly started UHV projects, from the perspective of power installation distribution, the installed capacity of wind power, nuclear power and other power sources in Northern Fujian accounted for about 80% of the province from 2021 to 2030. The UHV transmission projects from Fuzhou to Xiamen and from Zhumadian to Wuhan adopt the UHV transmission technology independently developed by China and internationally leading, which has the outstanding advantages of large transmission capacity, long distance, low loss and low land occupation.
The southwest and northwest provinces of China have obvious surplus power, and the eastern provinces rely heavily on the transmission of power to other provinces. Previously, Guodian proposed to build a new UHV line “24 AC and 14 DC” during the 14th Five Year Plan period, involving a line length of more than 30000 kilometers and a total investment of 380 billion yuan. Compared with 35900 kilometers of “14 AC and 12 DC” at the end of the 13th five year plan in 2020, the scale is nearly doubled.
At present, the State Grid has built a total of 29 UHV projects, with 46000 kilometers of lines under construction, and more than 2.5 trillion kwh of power transmission. It is estimated that by 2030, the trans regional and trans provincial transmission capacity of the State Grid will be increased from the current 240 million kW to more than 370 million KW.

According to the information publicized by the State Grid, the third batch of bidding products this year include composite appliances, reactors, mutual inductors, capacitors, lightning arresters, post insulators and arc suppression coils. Among them, the combined electrical appliances occupy the absolute majority, and the bidding amount is nearly 1.845 billion yuan. From the perspective of individual enterprises, China Xd Electric Co.Ltd(601179) ranks first in the category of combined electrical appliances with the bid winning amount of 217 million yuan for 10 packages, Henan Pinggao Electric Co.Ltd(600312) ranks second with the bid winning amount of 214 million yuan for 10 packages, Sieyuan Electric Co.Ltd(002028) ranks third with the bid winning amount of 180 million yuan for 8 packages, Changgao Electric Group Co.Ltd(002452) and Tbea Co.Ltd(600089) also reach 112 million yuan and 90.24 million yuan respectively.
