Facing the severe internal and external economic environment, China's foreign trade import and export achieved rapid growth in 2021, the scale reached a new high and the quality improved steadily, which handed in a satisfactory answer for the opening year of the 14th five year plan. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, in order to better promote the high-quality development of foreign trade, China will make efforts to create a good development environment from four aspects: expanding openness and cooperation in the field of trade, deepening bilateral and regional cooperation, implementing the promotion strategy of free trade zones and actively participating in the formulation of international economic and trade rules.

So far, China has signed 19 free trade agreements with 26 countries and regions, and its free trade partners cover Asia, Oceania, Latin America, Europe and Africa. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, China will promote the construction and expansion of free trade zones, improve quality and efficiency, optimize the layout of free trade zones, further improve the level of liberalization of trade in goods, and promote negotiations on trade in services and investment in the form of negative lists.
On how to improve the construction of the free trade zone, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said at the previous press conference of the State Council Information Office that the Ministry of Commerce will resolutely implement the deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, promote the implementation of the promotion strategy of the free trade zone from the three aspects of "expansion, improvement of quality and efficiency", effectively connect the international and Chinese markets and resources, provide institutional guarantee for a higher level of opening to the outside world, and serve to build a new development pattern. While implementing the strategy of upgrading the free trade area, China will also deepen bilateral and regional cooperation to create a good environment for the high-quality development of foreign trade. We will give better play to the roles of the bilateral high-level committee and the mixed (joint) economic and Trade Committee, strengthen the docking of economic and trade mechanisms, improve and strengthen economic and trade cooperation mechanisms, give full play to the role of high-level economic and trade dialogue, and promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
During the two sessions this year, the reporter learned that, as a representative of large developing countries and emerging economies, China will deepen cooperation with Indonesia in the whole vaccine industry chain to ensure that Indonesia will build a regional vaccine production center and jointly build a regional anti epidemic shield. At the same time, the two sides will promote the early completion and opening of the yavan high-speed railway, so as to provide greater acceleration for the post epidemic development of Indonesia and the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides.
