The national scientific and technological community has resolutely implemented the major decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council and promoted the solid implementation of various tasks. Scientific and technological innovation has played an important role in preventing and controlling epidemic diseases, promoting high-quality development, building a new development pattern and ensuring national security, so as to achieve a good start of the 14th five year plan. The comprehensive ranking of national innovation capacity rose to 12th in the world.
In his work report, Wang Zhigang, Minister of science and technology, said that in 2022, science and technology work should adhere to the “four orientations”, with the goal of accelerating the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, the theme of paying close attention to the solid implementation of science and technology policies, and the main line of the three-year plan for scientific and technological reform, accelerate the transformation of government functions, change work style, deepen reform, and do a good job in overall coordination, We will strive to strengthen the national strategic scientific and technological force, strengthen basic research, fight for key core technologies, strengthen the dominant position of enterprise innovation, strengthen the construction of scientific and technological talent team, optimize the ecology of scientific and technological innovation, expand opening-up and cooperation, improve the overall efficiency of scientific and technological innovation, and give full play to the strategic supporting role of science and technology in national development and security.
