Cao Dewang said that Fuyao University of science and technology plans to take the lead in the development of science and engineering, including materials science, ecological environment, electronic information, precision instrument and equipment manufacturing. At the same time, Fuyao University of science and technology will also promote the dual tutor system. One tutor will complete the teaching task and the other tutor will be served by engineers from enterprises to complete the practical guidance to students.
In addition, Cao Dewang said that entrepreneurs should abide by the law, pay taxes according to regulations and be kind to all living beings. In Cao Dewang’s view, it is relatively simple to observe discipline and law and pay taxes according to regulations, but it is difficult to be kind to all sentient beings.
“Our ancestors believed that mountains, water, lakes, streams, rivers, flowers, grass, trees and trees all have life and should be respected by us.” Cao Dewang said.
Strive to have the ability of level 4 engineer before graduation
“There are many universities in China. I don’t care about more. Sometimes I think so. But I want to solve the problem that college students want to work after college. Before they graduate, they can’t wait to find a job. We should pay attention to helping them solve the problem of not being employed after graduation.” Cao Dewang said.
Cao Dewang has his own thoughts on how Fuyao University of science and technology should go.
Cao Dewang said that Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co.Ltd(600660) has factories in 11 countries such as Germany and the United States. He found that German universities have played a powerful role in helping the development of the industry and solved the short board problem of the industry. Therefore, Fuyao University of science and technology will start with science and engineering.
“We promote the dual tutor system. One tutor is completely (according to) the teaching task of the teaching outline, and the other tutor is from the factory and comes out of the enterprise to help students improve (practical ability), and strive that students should have the skills of engineer level 4 before graduation.” Cao Dewang said.
“We studied the main reasons why college students don’t go to employment, because there is a missing link in our education. (part) after graduation, college students can’t fill in the employment form clearly, (because) He doesn’t dare and has no confidence. It’s hard for him to be dragged to the factory as a worker. *** In this regard, let’s find (practice) ourselves. I think the university I run this time should strengthen the investment in laboratories, train students, and invite some senior engineers from factories to coach and train them. ” Cao Dewang said.
Positioning as a research university
It is worth noting that for Fuyao University of science and technology, Cao Dewang is positioned as a “research” University, rather than simply teaching students practical skills. Different from the usual understanding, Cao Dewang believes that if you want to become a scientist, you must first become an engineer.
“Why should I position Fuyao University of science and technology as a research type? Like our enterprises, many people look down on you and think you are not a township enterprise. It’s wrong! Fuyao is now the largest automobile glass factory in the world, and almost all the glass used in new electric vehicles is Fuyao’s, because it has a high technical content. Several people in our company also get it The State Council (government special) allowance, they are either graduate or undergraduate. I think the best way to become a scientist is to become an engineer first. Starting from an engineer, we can become talents only by mastering comprehensive knowledge of multiple disciplines. We run universities with this idea. ” Cao Dewang further elaborated his ideas.
On the other hand, Cao Dewang believes that Fuyao University of science and technology should explore a way for China’s higher education, that is, to cultivate positive and vigorous young people to go to the front line of manufacturing industry.
In addition, Cao Dewang gave his message to contemporary college students, hoping that young students can devote all their energy to cultivating their self-confidence.
“A person’s self-confidence determines his results. How can he be confident? For example, I have faith. I believe in nature. I believe in mountains, water, rivers, seas, lakes, flowers, grass, trees and trees. I believe that the party’s reform and opening-up policy is correct. I believe that the party’s discipline and law are effective for everyone.
