After four years of construction, on the afternoon of December 30, with the official opening of Changzhou Wuxi section of Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou Southern Expressway, Taihu tunnel, the longest lake bottom tunnel in China built by three companies of CCCC Third Navigation Bureau, was officially opened to traffic at the same time.
It is reported that the south Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou Expressway Taihu Lake Tunnel Project participated by CCCC Third Navigation Bureau is the key and controlling project of the project. The total length of the project is 10.79 km. It is the longest lake bottom tunnel in China. The cross section of the tunnel adopts the form of folded plate arch, two holes and one pipe gallery, with a clear height of 7.25 meters, a clear width of 40.6 meters and a single hole clear width of traffic holes on both sides of 17.45 meters. The Third Navigation Bureau has overcome eight major technical problems such as “Application of soil solidification technology in deep foundation pit”, successfully developed an integral movable support trolley, set the record of the deepest underwater pile delivery of non prestressed square piles in China, adhered to the environmental protection concept of “shadowless”, “silent” and “tangible” during construction, and carried out proliferation and release activities every year, Create a high-quality, green, safe and comfortable ultra long and ultra wide underwater tunnel project at the leading level in China in the new era.
According to the relevant person in charge of the project, Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou South Expressway is a local expressway project determined by the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of transport to support the development of the “three strategies”, and it is also an integral part of the “15 shooting” in the “15 shooting, 6 vertical and 10 horizontal” expressway network planning of Jiangsu Province. The project is connected to Changyi Expressway under construction in the West and Wuxi Taihu Lake Expressway in the East. It is also the second Expressway channel between Shanghai and Nanjing, which can effectively alleviate the current congestion in Wuxi and Suzhou sections of Shanghai Nanjing Expressway, and is of great significance to promote the urban development of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou along the line and accelerate the integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
