“Driven by artificial intelligence, the joint research team hopes to study how to realize self intelligent management for 5g network.” On December 30, the Institute of intelligent industry of Tsinghua University, AsiaInfo technology, China Mobile, China Telecom Corporation Limited(601728) and Intel jointly released the white paper “communication artificial intelligence enabled self intelligent network”. Zhang Yaqin, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and President of the Institute of intelligent industry of Tsinghua University, said at the meeting that the intelligence of the Internet of things and the new generation of communication network is inseparable from the concept and research direction of green computing, Artificial intelligence is not only an important way to promote green computing, but also an important means to drive the communication network to gradually realize independent management and automatic governance.
5g network will realize “self intelligence”, which means that the communication network has the ability of automatic and intelligent operation and maintenance in the whole life cycle, that is, the communication network itself can “self-service, self-healing and self optimization”.
Taking the energy consumption of 5g base station as an example, the self intelligent network can realize the optimal configuration, the most efficient application hardware, and realize the low energy consumption of the whole industry.
The white paper “communication artificial intelligence enabled self intelligence network” released this time puts forward a unique “self intelligence Cube”, which strongly supports the self intelligence network goal of communication operators to move forward from conceptual design to practical implementation. The white paper proposes that the network data middle station, communication artificial intelligence and network digital twin will become the three key technologies driving the development and evolution of self intelligent network.
The innovation of industry university research cooperation in the field of self intelligence network is constantly carried out. The “5g network intelligent system R & D and industrial large-scale application” jointly completed by AsiaInfo technology and the Intelligent Industry Research Institute of Tsinghua University has passed the national scientific and technological achievement appraisal, of which 5 subdivision technologies such as 5g network slicing are internationally leading. Dr. Ouyang ye, chief technology officer and senior vice president of AsiaInfo technology, said that communication artificial intelligence will further promote the continuous evolution of operators from intelligent network level to high level, and then gradually realize the digital intelligent transformation of communication operators.
The self intelligence practice of 5g network has also been implemented. It is reported that the self intelligence practice of 5g network has been commercialized on a large scale in China’s 5g network construction, which directly supports the construction of 5g oriented communication software ecosystem of the three major communication operators, and helps operators cope with the challenges of operation and maintenance, energy consumption and so on.
