Full capacity grid connected power generation of the largest offshore wind power project in northern China

The last offshore wind turbine of Dalian Zhuanghe offshore wind power project of China Huaneng Group was successfully connected to the grid on the 29th, marking the full capacity grid connected power generation of the offshore wind power project with the largest single capacity and the highest latitude in northern China.

The project site is located in the open sea area on the east side of Shicheng Island, Zhuanghe City, Dalian, Liaoning Province, including wind farm II and wind farm Ⅳ 1. The planned area is 115.2 square kilometers, the average water depth is 30 meters, the total installed capacity is 650 MW, and a total of 60 5 MW, 26 7.5 MW and 25 6.2 MW wind power generators are installed.

After the full capacity grid connected power generation of the project, the annual on grid power is expected to reach 1.73 billion kwh, which can meet the annual power demand of 1.442 million households. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same scale, 540000 tons of standard coal can be saved and 1.12 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced every year. The comprehensive economic and environmental benefits are very considerable.

According to Wang Yaowu, the project leader of Dalian Zhuanghe offshore wind power project management department of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited(601186) port and Shipping Bureau, since the formal commencement of Ⅳ 1 wind farm project on March 24 this year, the project department has overcome the adverse factors such as complex hydrometeorological and geological conditions in open sea areas, frequent temperate storm surges, low temperature environment in winter in high latitude sea areas, and the impact of covid-19 epidemic, The project has achieved the goal of “commencement in the same year and completion of full capacity in the same year”, and the construction period is nearly half shorter than that of offshore wind power projects with the same scale and conditions.

In addition, during the construction of the project, the project department independently designed and manufactured tools and instruments suitable for the installation of different types of fans, creating a record of the fastest single installation of one offshore fan of the same level in China in 46 hours, and the installation of 12 fans per ship per month, setting a new record for the installation of offshore fans in the north.

It is reported that, as a key project approved by the national energy administration, after the project is put into operation as a whole, it will be of great significance to solve the contradiction between new energy development and land forest and grass protection, the construction of marine pasture, renewable energy utilization and marine aquaculture.
