According to the reporter, at the two sessions of the National People’s Congress this year, many deputies to the National People’s Congress said they would submit suggestions on free HPV vaccination for school-age women.
In China, cervical cancer is the second largest female malignant tumor, with about 110000 new cases every year. Over the past 20 years, incidence rate and mortality rate have been increasing year by year, and are becoming younger. China’s HPV vaccination rate for women of the right age is less than 1%. With the birth of HPV vaccine, cervical cancer is expected to become the first malignant tumor that can be completely eliminated.
Xu Ping, deputy to the National People’s Congress, suggested that the domestic divalent HPV vaccine should be included in the immunization plan; Cai Weiping, deputy to the National People’s Congress and chief expert of the infectious disease center of the eighth Municipal Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University, suggested that the domestic non immunization planning vaccines including HPV vaccine and rabies vaccine should be included in the scope of payment through amending the social insurance law to prevent the occurrence of related diseases; Yue Xihuan, deputy to the National People’s Congress, member of the Sixian county Party committee and people’s mediator of Anhui Province, will submit a proposal on free cervical cancer vaccine (HPV vaccine) for school-age women; Yang Rong, deputy to the National People’s Congress, deputy director of Sanqiao police station of Xinghualing branch of Taiyuan Public Security Bureau and police of jingangli community, will submit the “proposal on free HPV vaccination for school-age women in the country”.
The reporter learned that since 2020, many cities such as Inner Mongolia Eerduosi Resources Co.Ltd(600295) , Wuxi, Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co.Ltd(601008) , Xiamen and Jinan have started free or subsidized HPV vaccination for school-age women. Among them, Xiamen, Jinan, Wuxi and Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co.Ltd(601008) and other places have vaccinated domestic bivalent HPV vaccine (wantaixinkening) for school-age women free. Up to now, nearly ten prefecture level cities including Jinan, Xiamen, Chengdu and Inner Mongolia Eerduosi Resources Co.Ltd(600295) have implemented free HPV vaccination programs. Recently, Shijiazhuang and Tangshan announced the official launch of the free domestic bivalent HPV vaccine project for women aged 14. HPV vaccination programs in Hainan, Guangdong and other provinces will also be launched in 2022.
