Tianan Qianshu, located on the Bank of Suzhou River in Shanghai, officially opened on December 22. As early as the construction stage, it became a net red because of its unique design.
The shopping center was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, a British architectural genius designer. It is said that he combined the Huangshan Mountain in China with the air garden in Babylon, Cuba, so we can see this unique building. Tian’an Qianshu has attracted extensive attention since its construction. As a net red landmark, it has been called “suspended forest” and “magic capital Cuba billon”.
The Tianan Qianshu project selects a long and narrow site from top to bottom, with 400 steps and 1000 structural columns to form a mountain tree terrace, with more than 1000 green plants planted. Along the side of Suzhou River, there are hundreds of terraces, hundreds of fair faced concrete life columns and scattered trees. Near the side of Moganshan Road, the “big mountain” is like being split by a big axe, as steep as a cliff. In the evening, dotted with thousands of stars, thousands of trees float on the Bank of Suzhou River like a huge prayer lamp.
With the official opening on December 22, the interior of the mall is also open to the public. When you enter the mall, you will see hundreds of clean water and soil columns hanging vertically from the air, as if they were huge roots into the land. These fair faced concrete columns are embedded with water supply pipes and rainwater drainage pipes, including rainfall sensors and soil moisture sensors. The pouring amount is automatically adjusted according to the soil humidity, which can realize intelligent irrigation. It is reported that the annual maintenance cost of plants alone in the shopping mall is as high as 60 million yuan.
There are hundreds of open balconies in the mall. Except that some balconies in the high-rise area and the top floor are used as private balconies for brand merchants, public balconies are available on floors 1 ~ 6.
Qianshu project faces the south facade of Moganshan Road and is an “artistic giant curtain wall”. Tian’an group invited 16 artists from around the world to draw this art wall to pay tribute to the graffiti tradition of Moganshan Road. At the beginning of the opening of Tianan Qianshu, the works of many artists, including kaws, will be dotted in the footpaths and shopping malls. It is reported that the architect Thomas Heatherwick also specially designed the buttons of the art elevator. The total value of the buttons of the six storey elevator is up to 8 million yuan.
As a new landmark of wanghong, Tianan Qianshu project has a profound historical background. The project is located at the former site of Fufeng Fuxin flour mill of Rong family in Shanghai. Today, four historic buildings are still preserved around it.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the trend of modern industry in Shanghai rose along the Suzhou River. In 1913, Rongshi Fuxin flour factory was born, contributing 60% of the flour productivity of Shanghai. In 1956, Fuxin and Fufeng flour mills merged. At the beginning of the 21st century, due to the governance of the Suzhou River, industry gradually withdrew from the banks of the Suzhou River, and the machines that once rumbled stopped running.
