China’s national defense is accelerating towards intelligence. According to the white paper on China’s national defense in the new era (hereinafter referred to as the white paper) issued by the State Council, driven by a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum information, big data, cloud computing and the Internet of things are being accelerated in the military field, and the international military competition pattern is undergoing historic changes. With the rapid development of military high and new technology with information technology as the core, the trend of long-range accuracy, intelligence, stealth and unmanned of weapons and equipment is more obvious. The evolution of war form to information war is accelerated, and intelligent war is beginning to appear. The white paper points out that significant progress has been made in military reform with Chinese characteristics, but the task of mechanization construction has not been completed, and the level of informatization needs to be improved urgently. Military security faces the risk of technological surprise and widening the technological generation gap. There is still a big gap between the level of military modernization and the needs of national security, and between the level of military modernization and the advanced military level in the world. In this context, the white paper proposes to “adhere to the road of building a strong army with Chinese characteristics”, including “promoting the integrated development of mechanization and informatization and accelerating the development of military intelligence”. We believe that informatization and intelligence are the only way for China’s national defense, and its development is expected to accelerate in the future.
Simulation and satellite navigation have become an important part of national defense intelligence. According to the article “satellite navigation in intelligent battlefield” by Tan Shusen, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, published by the PLA Daily, satellite navigation has become a “standard” element of intelligent battlefield. Satellite navigation technology can provide positioning, navigation and timing services for land, sea, air and space objects with high precision, all-weather, large-scale and multi-purpose. In addition, using the satellite navigation system, the whole flight process of the missile can be corrected to ensure the hit accuracy. According to the current situation, this paper puts forward the demand of “unmanned vehicle automatic driving, UAV precision approach, intelligent missile position measurement and so on, which urgently need to improve another order of magnitude on the basis of the existing navigation accuracy”. We believe that in the context of national defense intelligence, new requirements are put forward for satellite systems, and relevant requirements may be released continuously. In addition to satellites, modeling and simulation (M & S) is also the focus of national defense intelligence. According to the official wechat of China command and control society, “modeling and simulation, experiment and combat simulation – evaluating common situations”, M & s supports various national defense tasks of various services and joint commands, including concept exploration, analysis, procurement, test and evaluation, planning, doctrine and tactics development, operation and training. Some assessment agencies estimate that the total annual U.S. spending on M & S is $50 billion, including $9 billion from the U.S. Department of defense. At the sub Forum on intelligent simulation and simulation training of the Eighth China command and control conference, Han Zhiping, Secretary of the Party committee of the second Department of the second Academy of Aerospace Science and industry, emphasized the important position and core function of intelligent simulation and simulation training in advanced intelligent defense military technology. We believe that simulation is also an important part of national defense intelligence and has broad prospects in the future.
The successful launch of 22 satellites in one arrow has accelerated the development of China Spacesat Co.Ltd(600118) field. According to the official wechat of China Academy of launch vehicle technology, at 7:44 on February 27, at China Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, the long march 4C launch vehicle ignited and lifted off, successfully launched landsat-1 group B satellite, which will form a close flying formation or network operation state with satellite a launched on January 26. At 11:06 on the same day, the Long March 8 remote-2 carrier rocket developed by the rocket academy took off at China’s Wenchang space launch site, and then successfully put the 22 satellites into the predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success, setting the highest record for China’s one rocket multi satellite launch and the record for the shortest launch interval of Long March rockets. The total weight of the 22 satellites and satellite supports launched this time is about 2.6 tons. The satellites are from seven commercial aerospace enterprises in China, mainly optical remote sensing satellites. This mission needs to complete 22 satellite separations, with a total of 12 separations, setting a new record for China’s aerospace. We believe that at present, relevant technologies in the China Spacesat Co.Ltd(600118) field have made continuous breakthroughs and accumulated more and more experience, which has laid a solid foundation for the rapid development of the satellite industry.
