The East-West main tower of Lingdingyang bridge of deep and medium channel of Dawan district project realizes "one kilometer one line traction"

On the 15th, the pilot cable of Lingdingyang bridge, a super project in the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao under construction by Guangdong Communications Group, crossed the river, and the East and west main towers of the bridge were successfully "hand in hand".

Shenzhen China channel is a super sea crossing cluster project integrating "bridge, island, tunnel and underwater interconnection". It has a total length of 24 kilometers and a bridge project of about 17.2 kilometers. Among them, Lingdingyang bridge is one of the key control projects of the project. It adopts a three span full floating system suspension bridge structure, which is divided into two main towers in the East and West. The main span is 1666 meters long and the height of the main tower is 270 meters. It is the world's largest offshore steel box girder suspension bridge, which is difficult to construct.

The pilot cable crossing the river is the first step in the "Long March" of the superstructure construction of suspension bridge. Lingdingyang bridge is located in the open waters of the Pearl River Estuary, with frequent monsoon and gust weather, difficult construction organization and coordination and high safety risk. In the construction of pilot cable crossing the river of long-span suspension bridge in China, there are different methods, such as ship pulling, rocket throwing, hot-air balloon traction, UAV traction and so on. After comparison and selection of multiple schemes, expert demonstration and field experiment, the project finally adopts the ship pulling scheme, and the construction is organized by the S04 Project Department of Shenzhen China channel of CCCC second navigation bureau.

At 13:00 on the same day, the pilot cable was connected with the steel rope lowered at the West Main Tower of Lingdingyang bridge. Under the escort of the maritime department, the tractor pulled the pilot cable to the middle span platform of the East Main Tower.

"The key to towing the pilot rope on water is to ensure that the rope laying speed matches the ship's speed. Once the rope enters the water and is entangled by obstacles, the previous work will be wasted." Liao Linchong, deputy manager of S04 Project Department of Shenzhen China channel of CCCC second navigation bureau, said.

After about 1.5 hours, the pilot cable with a total length of 2000 meters successfully crossed the water area with a width of 1666 meters. Then, both sides of the East and west main towers lifted the pilot cable to an altitude of more than 80 meters from the river.

The pilot cable smoothly crosses the river, laying an important foundation for the installation of superstructure traction system and catwalk erection of Lingdingyang bridge. (end)
