“Colorful ring line” connects Sichuan, Chongqing and Guizhou, and China’s high-speed rail service moves towards “branding”

The modern carriages are hung with lanterns, the overheated Lantern Festival is picked up from the conductor’s hands, and the lantern riddles are guessed with other passengers… During the Lantern Festival, Yi Xin, a passenger, spent an unforgettable Lantern Festival on the Sichuan Chongqing Guizhou link high-speed railway, China’s first inter provincial link high-speed railway. She said that she chose to take this “colorful ring line” today “because it is different from other high-speed railways”.

What’s the difference between this high-speed railway? It is understood that the Sichuan Chongqing Guizhou ring line high-speed railway running in Southwest China is the only inter provincial ring line high-speed railway in China. Take the c6017 trip from Chengdu East to Chengdu East as an example. It starts from Chengdu, passes through Chengdu Chongqing high speed railway, Chongqing Guiyang high speed railway and Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway clockwise, and finally returns to Chengdu, connecting more than 10 large, medium and small cities along the line, such as Chongqing, Zunyi, Guiyang, Yibin, Leshan and Chengdu.

“This loop high-speed railway really shortens the space-time distance between cities in Southwest China.” Yi Xin is from Guiyang. She used to study in Chengdu. At present, she works in Guiyang and often visits relatives and friends in Chongqing. She told reporters that before the ring line high-speed railway was opened, she had to transfer halfway to reach the inter provincial destination. “The inter provincial ring line is too important for people like me who often go to three provinces (cities).”

Yi Xin said that more importantly, this loop high-speed railway also has a loud brand – “colorful loop”, which is different from other high-speed railways. In addition to all using Fuxing EMU, “the conductor is also very kind and considerate. There are often special costumes and activities in the carriage, which makes me feel that the air at home is warm.”

“This high-speed rail ring line, like a necklace, strings up the colorful cultural ‘pearls’ along the line.” Niu Yingying, leader of the first EMU team of Guiyang passenger section of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said that the ring line connects dozens of famous scenic spots along the line, which is also the origin of the name of “colorful ring line”.

The reporter saw in the carriage that in addition to ordinary passenger service, the train also prepared tourism strategies for passengers along the way, such as Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan, Baili Rhododendron in western Guizhou, Ciqikou Ancient Town in Chongqing and other places, and attached with public transport transfer guide.

It is these meticulous and thoughtful services that have attracted a large number of tourists like Yixin.

Niu Yingying told reporters that since the opening of the “colorful ring line”, the average seating rate has reached 72.6%, which is less affected by the epidemic. During the Spring Festival holiday this year, the “colorful ring line” has a seating rate of more than 90%. It is one of the preferred high-speed rail lines for people in Southwest China to visit relatives, travel and vacation.

“The reason why the ‘colorful ring line’ has become the only high-speed railway in China is that the direct high-speed railway between Chengdu, Chongqing and Guizhou is very convenient, but the travel between inter provincial and prefecture level cities needs transfer, such as the travel demand from Zunyi, Guizhou to Bijie, Yunnan or Yibin, Sichuan.” According to the relevant person in charge of the passenger transport department of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd., they designed to link the three high-speed railway lines of Chengdu Guiyang, Chongqing Guiyang and Chengdu Chongqing, which suddenly met the direct needs of passengers in trans provincial and prefecture level cities.

The above person in charge said that the attempt to “brand” high-speed rail lines such as “colorful ring line” is also an inevitable phenomenon for the development of China’s high-speed rail to a certain stage. “Now that high-speed rail has become a network, we should not only meet the basic travel needs of the people, but also reflect the integration with local economic and social development, and meet the needs of passengers for higher quality high-speed rail services.”

It is reported that in the future, the railway department will further promote tourism resources on the stations and vehicles of the “colorful ring line” and promote the surrounding cities to further integrate into the double city economic circle in Chengdu Chongqing region.
