New energy vehicles usher in a general rise in prices: a slight rise in prices will not affect the sales promotion policy or the introduction of consumption promotion policies

The decline in subsidies and the rise in the price of raw materials have not effectively affected the sales of new energy vehicles.

Over the years, the retail volume in January decreased significantly compared with that in December, and the 27% month on month decline is still a good performance."

In fact, since the decline of the new energy subsidy policy at the end of last year, many car companies have announced price increases. On February 12, another car company joined the price increase team. On the same day, SAIC Roewe announced that due to the global chip shortage and the decline of the national new energy subsidy policy and other factors, the company had to decide to raise the official guidance prices of many new energy models from March 1, 2022 to deal with the changes in the new energy market.

At present, SAIC Roewe has launched 8 new energy models, including the new Roewe rx5 Emax, Roewe ei5 and Roewe clever.

This is the third brand of Saic Motor Corporation Limited(600104) to announce price increase. On February 1, Saic Motor Corporation Limited(600104) has adjusted the prices of some models of its two models, marvel R and er6. Among them, the adjusted price of Marvel R is 219800-261800 yuan. Except for the price of entry-level models, the price of rear drive pro and 4WD Pro has increased by 2000 yuan. The adjusted price of Feifan er6 is 156800-201800 yuan, and the price of all models increases by 1000 yuan; On February 7, the price of SAIC GM Wuling nanoev increased. The adjusted price range was 52800-62800 yuan, and the price of all models increased by 3000 yuan.

"Due to the strong demand for new energy at the terminal, insufficient production capacity and abundant orders for undelivered vehicles, the slight rise in price will not seriously affect the overall market demand."

From the market feedback, users also have a certain degree of consensus and expectation on the price change after the decline of new energy. Cui Dongshu said, "there may be a phenomenon of 'buying as you go up', because after next year, the subsidy for new energy vehicles will be abolished and consumers will no longer enjoy the subsidy. From the perspective of overall consumption expectation, the demand for vehicles is relatively rigid, and the impact of the current terminal price increase on demand is limited. At the same time, there may be relevant policies to promote consumption in terms of policy."

At the same time, rising raw material prices also put pressure on new energy vehicle enterprises. According to the operation of nickel cobalt lithium industry in 2021 released by the Ministry of industry and information technology, the average spot prices of electrolytic nickel and electrolytic cobalt in 2021 were 137000 yuan / ton and 363000 yuan / ton respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 25.6% and 40.1%; The average spot prices of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide were 122000 yuan / ton and 113000 yuan / ton respectively, up 177% and 117% year-on-year.

In the face of rising costs, Cui Dongshu gave five suggestions, including: improving product technical indicators and obtaining more subsidies; Improve the scale of single car sales and reduce costs; Improve the structure of battery suppliers; Innovate battery technology and resolve the profits of the industrial chain itself.

"In 2022, many auto companies have set ambitious production and sales improvement targets. Therefore, we are confident that the sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles will reach about 5.5 million in 2022, and continue to achieve a high growth of about 70%." Cui Dongshu expected.
