The building facade of “ice ribbon” has smooth lines and dynamic shapes, reflecting the speed and passion of ice sports. A total of 1738 pieces of “ice ribbon” toughened curved glass have been applied in the Beijing speed skating Pavilion project. These “ice ribbon” glasses combine many technical difficulties, such as super large, concave convex surface bending, special shape, Low-E energy saving, small radius and so on, so the processing is very difficult. In order to solve the toughening problem of special-shaped small radius curved glass, Tianjin North Glass independently designed the toughening equipment, continuously developed the small radius toughening process, continuously tested the effect and feasible processing scheme of different small radius toughened glass, continuously optimized the process flow and improved the glass forming technology, and finally successfully completed the supply of this project on schedule.
